Online Wapda billing component

Its reliability is questionable since it relies on human input. So the reliability is questionable. Yet many people do not go over their invoices before paying. Service providers can overcharge you for the power you have never used.

Their uniqueness is that someone’s name cannot be repeated, but the codes cannot. These connections identify a particular channel owner by representing a particular electric connection for that channel.

It is, therefore, necessary to understand how to interpret a bill in order to detect billing errors. Our compiled information has made it easy to get started. Don’t worry, it might seem daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature.

In addition, for most bills, such as MEPCO, HESCO, LESCO, IESCO, etc, these components come under the same heading.

Let’s begin.

1.  Identifiers

On your invoice, you might have noticed that there were some unique codes, including a reference number, meter number, and consumer identification number.

Unlike names, they cannot be repeated but these codes can. Every one of these identifies the owner of the electric connection in question. Here are the numbers that appear on your electricity bill:

●    Reference number:

The code is 14 digits with the letter “U” at the end symbolizing a region, and “R” indicating rural. It is needed to access HESCO’s and other Wapda online billing systems.

●    Meter number:

The meter connection number is unique and six digits long. Each meter has a unique number assigned to it.

2.  Dates that are important

You encounter certain dates every time you receive an electricity bill as indicated below. Some of them you might already know, but here are a few:

●    Connection date

When your service provider approved or sets up your connection.

●    Bill month

That month’s invoice.

●    Issues dates

The date on which your invoice for that particular month was released by the company.

●    Due date

A deadline by which the payment must be made, otherwise you’ll be charged additional fees.

3.  Billing history

Your channel’s total electric consumption for the entire year is displayed on a chart with four distinct columns.

In each category, the total units consumed for the respective month are displayed. This allows a comparative analysis of the history.

It is important to figure out how to control expenses by reducing consumption. Additionally, the chart indicates canceled or delayed payments by filling in those rows with 0.

4.  Charges calculation

Calculating the total owing is done in this section. It begins with the meter reader taking note of your usage units. A total unit consumption is calculated by subtracting the current month’s reading from the previous month’s reading.

Following this, the electric bill is calculated using those units, in addition to taxes and various charges. The following taxes may appear on your bill.

●    GST

Governments deduct certain percentages as service charges under the name of goods and service tax.

●    ED

A channel’s electricity duty is based on the amount of electric power it consumes at one time.

●    L.P surcharge

Charges for additional services.

●    N.J surcharge

This type of charge is applied to both goods and services.
