Latest research from Gartner reveals shipments of the Global smartphones during the 1st quarter of year,2020. As it is well known, Epidemic Covid-19 has caused widespread devastation. It has been started from December 2019. Covid-19 is continued till now.
Every business is badly disturbed because of this wild epidemic. It arose from China, so it affected the manufactures and sales of China a lot. It affected their exports. As all business are down, people are trying to save their hard-earned penny to get through more difficult time.
Therefore, the sale of non-essential items (except food, medicines etc.) are greatly reduced. The overall sale of smartphones is also greatly reduced. Anshul Gupta said that due to this epidemic Smartphone industry has gone through worst decline in its sale.
Chinese manufacturers and Apple are badly affected because of the epidemic situation all over the world. Global smartphone sales dropped by 20.2% YoY in Q1 because of COVID-19 of 2020. Best brands of smartphone are Apple, Samsung, Oppo, Huawei and Xiaomi.
Apple faced less decline in its sale as compared to other world-famous Smartphone brands. The sale of Oppo, Samsung and Huawei are worst affected. Xiaomi sale has been increased comparatively.
Samsung sold over 55 million smartphones while they shipped more than 71 million in the same quarter last year. Huawei shipped over 42 million while it sold more than 58 million in the same duration in the absence of this situation and Apple shipped 44 million last year and this year it sold merely 40 million devices.

Samsung is badly affected but Mr. Gupta declared that this situation could be proved worst if it manufacturing factories were located in or near China. Its presence is limited in China.
Among all the top 5 smartphone brands, Huawei broke its record in decline in its sale.
Apple has not faced much decline in sale because it is not dependent on China for its manufacturing. If there were no covid-19 folks saw that the sale of Apple iPhone may break its record.
